Love Will Grow Cold

Jesus Christ predicted that just prior to His return, the world would experience an incredible increase in lawlessness and civil disorder, which would have a very chilling effect upon people’s love for God and their love for other human beings (Matthew 24:6-13). The apostle Paul also foretold that in the last days very difficult times would come, because men would be “lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness [(claiming to be “spiritual”)], although they have denied its power (what God has said in His Word); avoid such men as these (2 Timothy 3:2-5). Consequently, the pages within this book are intended to contrast divine love to humanistic love, and to expound upon the biblical definition of love compared to demonically inspired “love” that is so prevalent today. Clearly knowing and understanding the differences will have eternal consequences.
