On Eagles' Wings

The four different Gospels portray Jesus Christ as having four various faces. Matthew, through his genealogy, shows Him as the “Lion that is from the tribe of Judah” (see Revelation 5:5). Mark shows Jesus as having the face of an ox, which was the most expensive of all the animal sacrifices, and emphasized Christ giving “His life [as] a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). Luke features the total humanity of God becoming fully human as He has the face of a man (Luke 1:31-33). Lastly, the Gospel of John depicts the heavenly origin of Jesus in the face of an eagle—the Divine Eagle who descended from heaven in order to redeem mankind. The four faces of Jesus Christ are also illustrated in Ezekiel chapter 1 and in Revelation 4:5-11. Consequently, the pages within this book are meant to demonstrate how God possessed the characteristics of an eagle who always stands ready to lift up on His wings all those who wait for and faithfully obey Him (Isaiah 40:28-31).
